Pestroniks receives US patent for the technology behind bioVE+
US Patent No. 12,156,519 recognises key technology behind bioVE+ and supports Pestroniks’ plans to develop new pest management products, manufacturing partnerships and research collaborations.
Can light be designed to do more than simply illuminate?
At Pestroniks Innovations, that question led us to develop bioVE+ — a technology that combines UV LED light with fluorescent materials. When excited by UV light, these materials re-emit light at longer wavelengths. The combined spectrum can be designed to attract or repel targeted arthropods.
On 3 December 2024, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Pestroniks US Patent No. 12,156,519, titled Arthropod lure or repellent, arthropod trap, and lighting device. The patent covers key principles behind bioVE+ and describes its application in lures, traps and lighting devices. patents.justia.com
For us, the grant is an important milestone. It recognises the work behind the technology and gives us a foundation to develop it further. The next step is to turn that foundation into practical products, partnerships and new research.
How we plan to develop bioVE+
Developing new pest management products
We will continue exploring how bioVE+ can be used in new product formats and applications, with the aim of creating useful tools for pest management.
Co-developing products with contract manufacturers
We welcome opportunities to work with contract manufacturers, combining their production experience with our technology to develop products suited to practical use and manufacture.
Collaborating on research and new intellectual property
Research partnerships can help us test new ideas, build evidence and develop further intellectual property based on bioVE+.
A patent is a milestone, but the work continues. We look forward to developing bioVE+ with partners who share an interest in practical innovation for pest management.
